When I Talk to You, God
by Choitalyk Miah
When I talk to You, God,
I wish to tell You secrets
that no soul has ever spoken,
to bring You words
so new, so hidden,
that even eternity has not heard them.
But when I try,
the words vanish.
They fall empty in my hands,
and silence becomes my only offering.
For in Your presence,
everything I know loses meaning.
This world—its glitter, its pride,
its promises of tomorrow—
turns to dust before You.
This life, with all its laughter and sorrow,
becomes weightless,
like smoke carried away by the wind.
Nothing compares to You.
No joy, no sorrow, no dream,
can touch the measure of Your being.
And so I give You my silence,
my breath, my heart—
for in that quiet,
You already know everything.
